সাহান আরা বানু, এনডিসি ১৯ এপ্রিল ২০২০ তারিখে মহাপরিচালক (গ্রেড-১), পরিবার পরিকল্পনা অধিদপ্তর পদে যোগদান করেন। এ পদে যোগদানের পূর্বে তিনি অতিরিক্ত সচিব পদে মন্ত্রিপরিষদ বিভাগে কর্মরত ছিলেন। সাহান আরা বানু, এনডিসি বিসিএস (প্রশাসন) ক্যাডারের ৯ম ব্যাচের একজন কর্মকর্তা । তিনি ১৯৯১ সালের ২৬ জানুয়ারি বাংলাদেশ সিভিল সার্ভিসে যোগদান করেন । তাঁর সুদীর্ঘ কর্মজীবনে তিনি বিভিন্ন জেলা, উপজেলা ও বিভাগে মাঠ প্রশাসনের গুরুত্বপূর্ণ পদে কর্মরত ছিলেন। তিনি সহকারী কমিশনার ও ১ম শ্রেণির ম্যাজিস্ট্রেট পদে নারায়ণগঞ্জ, মুন্সিগঞ্জ ও ময়মনসিংহ জেলায় দায়িত্ব পালন করেন। এছাড়া, উপজেলা নির্বাহী অফিসার, গৌরীপুর, জেলা প্রশাসক ও জেলা ম্যাজিস্ট্রেট, মেহেরপুর এবং অতিরিক্ত বিভাগীয় কমিশনার, ঢাকা হিসেবে দায়িত্ব সম্পাদন করেছেন । কেন্দ্রীয় পর্যায়ে তিনি দুর্যোগ ব্যবস্থাপনা ও ত্রাণ মন্ত্রণালয়, রাষ্ট্রপতির কার্যালয় (বঙ্গভবন), প্রবাসী কল্যাণ ও বৈদেশিক কর্মসংস্থান মন্ত্রণালয়, স্বরাষ্ট্র মন্ত্রণালয়, এবং মন্ত্রিপরিষদ বিভাগে দায়িত্ব পালন করেছেন । সাহান আরা বানু, এনডিসি তাঁর সার্ভিসের অংশ হিসেবে বিভিন্ন পর্যায়ে অভ্যন্তরীণ ও বৈদেশিক প্রশিক্ষণে অংশগ্রহণ করেন । বাংলাদেশ লোক প্রশাসন প্রশিক্ষণ কেন্দ্র হতে তিনি বুনিয়াদী প্রশিক্ষণ, ম্যাট-২ কোর্স, উচ্চতর প্রশাসন ও উন্নয়ন কোর্স (এসিএডি), সিনিয়র স্টাফ কোর্স (এসএসসি), পলিসি প্ল্যানিং এন্ড ম্যানেজমেন্ট কোর্স (পিপিএমসি) সম্পন্ন করেছেন। তিনি বিসিএস প্রশাসন একাডেমি হতে সচিবালয় ব্যবস্থাপনা কোর্স, আইন ও প্রশাসন কোর্স সমাপ্ত করেছেন ।এছাড়া, তিনি ট্রেজারি প্রশিক্ষণ, সার্ভে ও সেটেলমেন্ট প্রশিক্ষণ, প্রধানমন্ত্রীর কার্যালয় কর্তৃক আয়োজিত এক্সিকিউটিভ এডুকেশন প্রোগ্রাম অন স্ট্র্যাটেজিক লিডারশিপ কোর্স, ডিফেন্স একাডেমি, যুক্তরাজ্য আয়োজিত ম্যানেজিং ডিফেন্স ইন দ্য ওয়াইডার সিকিউরিটি প্রোগ্রামে অংশগ্রহণ করেছেন । ২০১৬ সালে তিনি ন্যাশনাল ডিফেন্স কলেজ, ঢাকা হতে এক বছর মেয়াদি এনডিসি কোর্স সমাপ্ত করেন। সাহান আরা বানু, এনডিসি এআইটি, থাইল্যান্ড; ইয়র্ক বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়, কানাডা; ডিউক বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়, যুক্তরাষ্ট্র হতে বিভিন্ন কোর্স সম্পন্ন করেছেন। এছাড়া, মালয়েশিয়া, ভিয়েতনাম, চায়না, ভারত, নাইজেরিয়া, পোল্যান্ড, জাপান ও ফিলিপাইনে বিভিন্ন সেমিনার ও প্রশিক্ষণে অংশ নিয়েছেন। সাহান আরা বানু, এনডিসি ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের সমাজ বিজ্ঞান বিভাগ হতে বি.এস.এস. (সম্মান) ও এম.এস.এস. ডিগ্রী অর্জন করেন । তাঁর নিজ জেলা নড়াইল।
Dr. Faisel is a public health physician with more than 33 years of diverse experience with family planning, reproductive health, the Essential Services Package delivery program, and improving the quality of services in Bangladesh. This includes 9 years of working as a clinical service provider and trainer, and 5 years of working on clinical trials and introduction of new FP methods in the national program.
He is a medical graduate with master’s in Public Health and a Diploma in Personnel Management. As the Bangladesh Country Representative of EngenderHealth Bangladesh, he now steers and manages a multi-donor funded program in Bangladesh, assigning priorities, allocating more than 40 professionals and an equal number of support staff, and monitoring the progress of 5 multi-dimensional projects. He works with public, private, and NGO counterparts to improve the quality of and access to clinical contraception, Emergency Obstetric Care/maternal health, PAC, with particular attention to the transfer of skills and technology to the counterparts. Earlier in his career, while working at Bangladesh Fertility Research Program, he was responsible for the introduction of Norplant as a new contraceptive method in Bangladesh. He served for 7 years as the Senior Medical Officer and then as the Training Coordinator in the largest NGO in Bangladesh performing more than 10,000 minilap and about 5,000 vasectomy procedures and training hundreds of physicians and paramedics from MOHFW and NGOs on surgical contraception. He has been instrumental in establishing training programs on clinical contraceptives, and other components of the Essential Services Package.
Dr.Halida is a Faculty of the International Health Department at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health in Baltimore, USA. She is a Reproductive Health Epidemiologist and a Public Health Program Specialist, with over 35 years of national and international experience in reproductive health research and leading programs. She has done her Doctorate in Public Health from Johns Hopkins University and has worked in leadership positions and programs in Bangladesh, the USA, and several countries of Africa and Asia. She has worked with World Bank, USAID, IPPF, WHO and has been on the board of directors of several international organizations.
Dr.Halida Akhter has received many awards for her lifetime achievements and is an Individual Category Laureate of United Nations population Award 2006.

Youth access to experience and policymakers interactions are exceptional. The
conference presents a new approach to program, youth, SRHR, and FP showcasing how to
inform and intersect with youth and adolescents during this COVID-19 pandemic, in addition to
showcasing policy and FP for youth, good practices, and lessons learned. Since 2016, this
conference has contributed to speeding Bangladesh's development by learning and sharing the
knowledge from the experts from various interactive sessions based on methods and
preventative care, as well as innovations in social development and come up with ideas on
efficient program implementation.
The conference puts a special emphasis on giving the young attendees a chance to renew their
commitments to Family Planning (FP) 2030 and Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights
(SRHR) after the new normal world of COVID19 pandemic, as well as a chance to consider how
FP fits into the development paradigm in Bangladesh.
In order to generate a global solution for accessing family planning information, sexual-
reproductive health knowledge, mental health cares and enhancing life and soft skills for the
adolescents and youth; BNYCFP2023 will build bridges between young people, government
officials, and relevant stakeholders on a national and international level while also renewing
commitments for youth health rights at the local, state, national, and international levels.
